About OpenAP Conference 2026

The Asia-Pacific Conference on Open Education (OpenAP 2026) aims to establish an international academic forum that brings together researchers, educators, experts, library and information professionals, and policymakers to engage in critical discussions on the role of open education in advancing equitable, inclusive, and sustainable higher education.

Aims and Objectives of the Asia-Pacific Conference on Open Education

In the context of digital transformation and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, the conference seeks to examine emerging trends in higher education, particularly the development of Open Educational Resources (OER), Open Educational Practices (OEP), open science, and digital knowledge systems. It also highlights the role of open education in bridging the digital divide, expanding access to knowledge, and promoting lifelong learning across the Asia-Pacific region.

Furthermore, OpenAP 2026 aims to strengthen international academic collaboration, foster research networks, and enhance the quality and impact of scholarly publications in the field of open education.

To achieve the above objectives, the conference will undertake the following key functions:

  • Organize an interdisciplinary academic forum that connects research, policy, and practice in open education 

  • Attract and select high-quality scholarly contributions through a rigorous peer-review process 

  • Publish conference proceedings and promote international scholarly dissemination 

  • Develop and expand academic collaboration networks at regional and international levels 

  • Generate policy recommendations and models for advancing open education in the regional context 

  • Strengthen the capacity of educators, library and information professionals, and other stakeholders within the open education ecosystem

Call for Contributions

The Asia-Pacific Conference on Open Education (OpenAP 2026) cordially invites researchers, educators, experts, library and information professionals, policymakers, and other stakeholders to submit their contributions to the conference.

The conference welcomes diverse scholarly submissions that reflect both theoretical and practical perspectives on open education in the context of digital transformation and global integration. Contributions may primarily focus on higher education, while studies related to lifelong learning and broader learning communities are also strongly encouraged.

Conference Proceedings

All submitted conference papers will undergo a double-blind peer review process conducted by at least three qualified reviewers. Accepted papers will be published in the peer-reviewed conference proceedings with an ISBN. Selected papers will be invited for further development and submission to international journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science (ISI).
